Henri Style

Louisville, CO

This is my attempt (for now at least) at the style of Henri Cartier-Bresson, the ultimate street photographer. I've loved his work since I first saw it many years ago. Now that I'm shooting a lot with the EOS M, I'm hoping to try more. The M, especially with the 22mm pancake, is the digital equivalent of Cartier-Bresson's little Leicas (at least for those of us who can't afford the latest digital Leicas). It's small and unobtrusive (unlike my 7D). Although I used the still quite small 18-55 for this shot, I mostly shoot the M with the 22.

For me, much better. I noticed it more in his face.

I reprocessed it, using the DxO Filmpack Pan F Plus style, and then added a little grain in Lightroom (the Pan F Plus style doesn't appear to have any grain). I've put both versions in pending, so they can be compared side by side.

Thanks Jim. As to the grain, his varied quite a bit, depending on what film he was using. I used the DxO Tri-X style for this, but it did turn out a bit grainier than I was expecting. I might reprocess with a different film style

Nice capture. I just looked at some of his work. Yours appear to be a bit grainier than his; or am I missing something.
