Sorry Traveller here it is again I think I must have picked up the wrong image for importing. Is everyone back in their seats after viewing the original! lol

A Bit Largish...grin....this is how we learn. I have downloanded this new image and it is 3,200pixels...what happened to my max recommendation of 1,200 or lightroom doesn't allow measurements as Photoshop does? I find that hard to believe, they are the same company....sorry, but you have to try again. Traveller

This is the re-sized image I don't think the depth of colour and sharpness is there but I am not sure how many pixels per cm etc to make it so as to get the best of the image.

Carol, in LR4 click on FILE>EXPORT

Choose, Export To: HARD DRIVE in the drop down at top of dialog box (DB). Set a destination folder (CIC CHallenges?)
Scroll down in the DB to rename the file if you want, then scroll to
FILE SETTINGS: Choose jpg, srgb, and check LIMIT FILE SIZE TO, and enter 300K
Then scroll to IMAGE SIZING. Check RESIZE TO FIT: choose a setting from the drop down box (I choose long edge, but you can use whichever works best for you), Check DON'T ENLARGE, and enter a size in pixels (1000, 1250, etc. The larger the number, the more compression you'll get to keep it to the 300Kb that you chose earlier)

Hope that helps.

Generally photos are 6x4, or 9x6 for something a little larger....when taken somewhere around 5,100x3,400 pixels on my T4i, the same as your 60 I would imagine.

For a normal photo I, File Save, 900pixels x 600....and save at say a 10 or 9...that should get you at 300kb for size unless highly detailed.

However, because this has been cropped, successfully, to 650 x 352, a little more rectangular than 6x4, take this puppy up to 1100 x 613, or down since you have the original...I up rezed your image here to 1,100 x 613 and posted it over in Pending. Since you have the original it should come out even better.

oh, saved as a jpeg 9, came in at 271kb, perfect for the Challenge.

You try it...this is why we are here, to learn.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Hi I use Lr4 but this was resized using it unless there is another way of doing it using this programme.

We can tell you how to resize it with compression if you tell us what software you use for editing? Photoshop? DPP? Lightroom? Something else?? ??? Paul

Hi Traveller thanks for your great feedback much appreciated.

I am not entity sure how to make it bigger if we have to stay under a certain size how do I do that I struggle to keep them below the 300 limit. Is there a programme that I can use?

Carol

Really excellent...not to complain all the time...but could you post a larger version....maybe 1,100x 600 or what ever that would work out to be. I just think that this would be a more dramatic presentation....this is a winner and should be presented as such...imo. Best Wishes, Traveller
