BIF

Not my first bird in flight photo, but any others were just grab shots I wasn't planning on. Found a wildlife sanctuary with a blind nearby, and spent a long time there. 200mm just isn't long enough though. This is almost a 100% crop.

Peter,
Nothing is ever long enough or fast enough. LOL

However, the 100-400 is quite versatile, excellent IQ, and quick to focus. I certainly have had numerous cases where I want more, but I have learned to live with it.
I also know that if I didn't have the zoom, I'd miss a lot of shots.

I know Jim. I looked at the price of a used 100-400 today. 'course I told my wife when I got the 5D3 and 70-200, "that's it honey". Yeah, right.

Is the 100-400 long enough for BIF though?

Good one. I like the colors.
Now you have to be careful, though. If you start to like this subject, you will be looking at a new lens soon. BTW, I have the Canon 100-400 and love it.
