Third Place - Morning On The River - by Phydoux

Took the 40D out this morning. It's been a while and I really miss taking photos with it.

The interesting thing about shooting in the morning that I noticed. The sun comes up in my living room in the morning and when I got to this location I could swear it was turned around completely. I thought the sun would be behind me for this shot. Weird how one could get all turned around without even realizing it!

Actually, Shu, this is the first image I posted. I later posted a B & W version of this which everyone was talking about. I'll put the B & W in the Pending section.

Colour me in agreement too! I saw the B&W first, along with the comments so I was intrigued about the colour version. I like the symmetry of the stones and sky, emphasised by the close to complementary colours. Definitely prefer the colour. Regards, -Najinsky

Yes, I prefer this one as well.

I greatly prefer this version. I like the colours in the scene (and I'm always a fan of the strong perspective and foreground interest that come with a well used wide angle). Regards, Michael

OK, I looked at the color one again and I guess it does kind of grow on you. :)

I must agree with Traveller. I saw the original version and really liked it. If I hadn't seen the colour version, I probably would have been very impressed with this, but I prefer the first version. Regards, Michael

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh No, Color, imo, was far superior...you are the boss of course, but I love the color, even with, or maybe because of some of its flaws.

Best Wishes, Traveller
