For those of you that do not know what "Candling" is, it's the process used to check eggs to verify if an embryo is or isn't present.

Thanks for your comments K, I always use a pod on these kind of shots and usually a remote release cable. I think what your seeing is lack of DOF, I did not focus stack so we only have about 12 mm of DOF. Paul

Like composition and colors here. Did you use tripod? Asking because I would wish a bit more sharpness by this kind of shots.

I grew up in the country so this is nothing new to me and it is neat to see a young chick growing in them. What isn't very appealing is when you crack an egg in the frying pan and you find a 3 to 5 day embryo. Paul

I didn't know about candling, but I do now and this is a stunning image. I wonder how it would look if there was an embryo in one of the eggs. Regards, Michael
