Get Your Threads On!

This does have a bit of an optical illusion feel to me.

Where do you find this stuff? Did you visit a old fashioned sweat shop? Paul

My mum used to make clothes as a job (still does for family weddings but retired now) and this is such a familiar scene to me. These reels first go onto a spool which transfers some of the thread to a bobbin, which then goes inside the machine and gets picked up by the needle to make the stitch. If you've never seen how it works you should check it out, analogue precision to rival digital.

It was a mechanical marvel and my first introduction to engineering, perhaps that's why I became and engineer after leaving school.

Yes, I think the vastness of different rich colors is largely what makes this image...there are other good elements, but the color is a stand out, imo. Best Wishes, Traveller

Nicely composed and captured. The offsetting angles capture one's attention.

It does have a slightly disorienting effect. Interesting idea to avoid rule of thirds by almost filling the entire frame. Regards, Michael

I really like this! Very creative, and yes it has an optical illusion feel. Great work!
