Wayzata Train Station
by Jim

Wayzata, MN

Wayzata is, like a lot of little Minnesota cities, located on a lake. This was once the resort for Minneapolis. This train station was quite busy in the early 1900's when the folks from Minneapolis came out to Wayzata in the summer.
The tracks still are used by freight trains.

Well, I did a reshoot yesterday am. Sun was in the wrong place, but the sky was partly blue. But the resulting photo was just not the same. This shot had all that beautiful diffuse and not harsh light. The new shot was clean and crisp, with too many shadows.
Despite playing around a lot in post processing, the older shots, including some efforts at HDR, simply did not look as nice as this one.

Well, maybe re-shoot if you want, but I really like this "Nostalgia," version, good lines and it is clean. Traveller

Traveller - thanks.
Nothing fancy in the processing - I just kept playing with the white balance and different color saturation until I liked what I saw.
I may try to reshoot if the sun comes out.

They have done a lovely restoration on this station, and the almost yellow overlay in the processing adds to the effect. Best Wishes, Traveller
