Sorry, Kelly, I did plan to explain that bit, but never quite got around to doing so. I used a thin horisontal metal boom to hold the light bulb nicely in place until I was happy with that element of the image. I then removed the buld and the metal book altogether and shot the background only. The two images were then merged in PS so as to remove the boom arm. This is therefore definitely not "straight from the camera"! :-)

The blue really works well for the idea of intelligence....I kind of wish it had a yellow filament...Photoshop? Or, I'll gift you my filament from a couple of challenges ago...lol
