get a grip !

To be honest, this was not really shot for this challenge. Took the photo as I put the depicted 20D up for sale. Then noticed the nice textures, as I was processing the image. This is pretty much straight out of the camera (cropped slightly and a little dust removed from the foreground) - I'm loving the 5D more and more!

Sad, but true: not many greens worth on the used market. If I am lucky, I'll perhaps be able to get one sixth or one seventh of what I paid for it in September 2004. If you ask me, it is worth way more, considering its capabilities and output.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
1/3s f/9.0 at 85.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thaks Naj, for your words of encouragement!

The dust I removed, was on the seamless base / background - not on the sensor! In fact there is still some in the photo. I see that now when the sun is not shining into the room where my monitor is. The sensor of my 5D is very clean. It was pretty clean when I got it, but I got rid of the last few specks myself the other day. I am used to cleaning DSLR-sensors, and use "sensor-swabs" for the job.

Yes the excellent lighting brings out the textures very well, and wow didn't you keep that 20D in good condition! It looks almost new! Sensor dust can be an issue with the 5D simply because the sensor is so much larger, if there is someone local who can professionally clean it, I'd recommend having it done professionally initially, and then keep on top of it using Jim H's breath, cotton bud and rocket blower technique.

You can just tell from this that the 5D is going to be an amazing tool in your hands. Regards, -Najinsky
