A good lens does not make good pictures without the photographer's effort, so kudos to you. -Gerald

Thanks for the feedback Kelly, Michael and shu. I think I am guilty to a degree of giving in to equipment lust, it started when I bought an EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro for my 20D. The differences it made to the results I was getting shocked me, and I've been a lens junkie ever since, mostly by hunting down 2nd hand bargains and I now have a fine collection. But the key discovery is, buying better glass doesn't make you a better photographer, but it can help you get better results, and it can motivate to shoot more and require you to learn more, and that CAN make you a better photographer. I know I am improving, but it only takes a review of the work of Mr Puff to show how very far there is still to go! Regards, -Najinsky

can't tell who i admire the most, the lens or the guy who took this! frankly, the photographer wins hands down!! (i keep telling myself one can use a pinhole camera
and capture a fantastic shot, but, somehow when i see images like this, i still feel the need for bigger and better equipment.) i guess we are all guilty on this count!

Fantastic Naj! Spectacular glass.

Thanks for the comments Michael, CameraShy and Traveller. The blue is a blue bell, which are now in full bloom here. I also have a version with just an even green backdrop, and the green and gold is less busy and more soothing. It was tough to choose between them but in the end I liked the dash of blue as it adds a little chaos to something very structured. Regards -Najinsky

Just spectacular...worlds within worlds. Great lens, but equally great of you to see that this was...to be seen. Best wishes, Traveller

Beautiful. I, too, think the colors in the background add a nice touch. - CameraShy09

Thanks for the comments Bruce, Nico and Lydia. Very much appreciated. Nico, the MP-E 65mm f/2.8 is an amazing lens. It was very hard work to begin with and my first dozen shots didn't contain a single in-focus grain! This image is taken at x1 and if I get my breathing right I can hand hold up to x2 in good light, but the lens is a monster that goes up to x5 by which time it's into tripod and/or flash territory. Regards, -Najinsky

This is a beautiful image. Lovely colors and crisp detail. The patch of purple works very well. -- Bruce
