St Peter Hungate, Elm Hill

The tower was built in 1431.
The nave and transepts were rebuilt in 1458 by John and Margaret Paston.
Both the north and south doors are original, of about 1460.
The church became redundant in the 1930's.
In 1936 became the first church in the country to be used as a museum.
The museum closed in 1995 and the church is currently unoccupied.
