hailstones

Yesterday we had a mini tornado and a nearby village has been declared a 'zone sinistre'.
Within seconds of the wind and rain starting these hailstones began to fall.
The noise was deafening and together with the thunder the storm was quite terrifying.
(This coming from someone who enjoys watching storms!)
Our car has some 50-60 dents and a broken light cluster;
an ancient apple tree is down and locally, several large oaks;
the metal garage door is dented;
a neighbour's Velux windows are smashed
and the vegetable garden looks as if it has been strimmed!
I cannot begin to imagine what Pacific Rim storms must be like...

I've never seen anything like this. Very glad no one was hurt. Thanks for showing us,and I hope it doesn't take too long to recover from the damage as well.

Hailstones are the worst for creating havoc. It only takes a few moments to destroy everything too.
