Outdoors - O's in October

Fly agaric - Amanita muscaria

One of the most iconic and distinctive of European fungi, fly agaric,
with its red cap and white spots, is renowned for its toxicity and hallucinogenic properties.

Reminds me of this Dutch song for children. It starts like this:
Op een grote paddenstoel, rood met witte stippen,
zit kabouter Spillenbeen heen en weer te wippen.
On a big mushroom, red with white dots,
sits gnome Spillenbeen wipping back and forth.
BTW the name of the gnome (Spillenbeen) means: Thin legs
Love the picture.

What a charming little mushroom! Love the shape and colors!
Guess it's best to avoid, eh?

Best not to be eaten then! It is pretty though...
