Colmar, Alsace

Colmar – now in Alsace. Well-preserved old town, which came under German rule between 1871-1918 and 1940-1945.
Founded in the 9th century, where the Carolingian Emperor Charles the Fat held a diet in 884.

This is lovely, with the touch of red flowers, and the lady with her walking stick. That red object looks so out of place amongst the history of the place..
