Smolny Cathedral, St Petersburg

Situated within the Smolny Convent, founded by Tsarina Elizabeth. The cathedral was built in
1748-1755 in a fusion of Russian and Western Baroque styles, although it wasn’t fully completed
until 1835. It was looted during the Soviet era and allowed to decay until 1982, when it became
a concert hall.

Gorgeous photo, taken in the afternoon?. My tour took us to this church around 8 a.m., all back-lit. It's nice to this nice architecture in the sunlight.

The do favor blue-and-white color schemes, don't they?
