Florence

Rear of the Duomo, with the huge dome designed by Brunelleschi, which was the largest dome of its
time built without scaffolding. Bricks of varying sizes were set in a self-supporting herringbone
pattern, a technique Brunelleschi copied from the Pantheon in Rome.
