This lovely town is on the Côte Vermeille - the Vermillion Coast, named after the local landscape,
whose colour is enhanced by the clear light of this region. It was this light and the colours which attracted
many artists to Collioure, including Matisse, Braque and Picasso. It is a very busy place in high season.
