Peyto Lake is one of the most breathtaking glacial lakes along the Icefields Parkway.
Sadly, access was closed because of the snow, so all we got to see was the car park!
If you had the clothing to walk through the snow it's not far to the lookout, either through the forest, or by following the road. As the lake acquires it's color, it does so by spreading out like a drop of paint from the inlet of the melting snow and rockflour from the waterfall far behind Bow Lake which you can see from the lookout. If you were to go every few weeks like I have you would see the color move across the lake until it is of one uniform color.
