Steveston village is an historic and much-photographed salmon canning centre at the mouth
of the South Arm of the Fraser River. Now part of the city of Richmond, it was founded by
Manoah Steves, who arrived with his family around 1877-1878 from New Brunswick.
It is home to Canada's largest fishing fleet and has become known as the "Gateway to the Orca".
This view looks away from the waterfront.
