Resting in the square adjacent to the cathedral.
The Plaza was built to celebrate the city's triumph over an earthquake in 1755. Although the
earthquake devastated Lisbon, over the border in Portugal, Seville suffered very little damage;
this was attributed to the city's great devotion to the Virgin Mary.
