Walnut Hill Post Office

Living History Farms, Des Moines, Iowa

In Des Moines, we are lucky to have a special place called the Living History Farms. A place where you can escape to the past. This time of year, they have Christmas festivities and let you walk around the rustic lights and imagine you have returned to 1879 and the little town of Walnut Hill, Iowa.

This is a post office and a shop ("generál wares") as well ? So much to see on this picture: The traces in the snow, the stars in heaven above (i took the originale size!)
this wonderful historical building. And what a great name of the town: "Walnut Hill " (in german: "Walnuss Hügel" - sounds very strange - eh ;o) - lovely! An enchanting winter fairy tale as well! :o)))
