World consumption of coffee is projected to increase by 0.4 percent annually from 6.7 million tonnes (111 million bags) in 1998 - 2000 to 6.9 million tonnes (117 million bags) in 2010. (FAO)

In the production of one cup of coffee is embedded about 140 litres (246 pints) of water.
