17 Haloumi

Melbourne, Australia

Australia is really a meagre place for vegetarians.
The assortment on vegetarian products is rather small.
Luckily there is Haloumi.
I made this Haloumi yesterday evening:
I fried the Haloumi in olive oil and added tomato and coriander too it.

Haloumi is a Traditional Cypriot cheese.
It is made from a mixture of goat's and sheep milk,
although some Haloumi can be bought that also contains cow's milk.
It has a high melting point, and so can easily be fried or grilled.

Very nice shot. Looks very delicious. You'd do much better as a vegetarian here. We belong to a co-op supermarket that sells only vegetarian food.

I like fried goats cheese. I'm not a vegetarian so I don't know what is on offer.

What is haloumi? Whatever it is, it sure looks tasty!

Sounds and looks pretty good to me - I love coriander (I'd have it on anything!) and it looks beautiful sprinkled on the haloumi :o)
