Samuel Joseph Agnon (1888-1970) lived in Bad Homburg from 1921 to 1924. He is widely known as the master of modern Hebrew prose and received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1966. The city erected this memorial near the Kurpark golf course in his honor in 1993.
