On March 11, 2011, the Tsechen Kunchab Ling, Temple of All-Encompassing Great Compassion, located in Walden, NY, celebrated the Tibetan New Year, with well over 1000 members of the greater NY community of Buddhist people (with a large contingent of people of the Sherpa community) and their friends. It was a day of prayer, singing, dancing, eating, making friends, celebrating with family....and....a little bit of sakke and wine to ward off the cold. A true celebration of the cultures of Tibetan, Nepal, and Buddhist faith.
