This shot was made at the base of Accademia Bridge, where we like to have lunch at an outdoor cafe.
I took the picture while we waited for our pizza to be cooked.
In the background can be seen the large dome of Sta. Maria deila Salute, built in the 1630's by the Republic of Venice,
as a votive offering of thanks to the Virgin of Health (Salute) for deliverance from the plague, known as the Black Death.
The Baroque church was designed by Baldessari Longhena,
Inside are several famous works of art including Tintoretto's "Marriage at Cana"
and a Titian altarpiece of St. Mark Enthroned with several other saints.
