This beautiful female bronze nude is one of several Aristide Maillol nude sculptures in the Musee d'Orsay.
Displayed in a larger room in front of the Henri Toulouse-Lautrec's nightclub scene, both were done in the 1890's.

Maillol's bronze is placed in the room so that the visitor can walk around it and see it from all angles,
an important consideration in viewing any sculpture.
