Borghese Park - Pseudo Ruin.jpg

This pseudo ruin fronts along one of the major walkways in Borghese Park in Rome.
The large park, originally a 16th c. vineyard, is a beautiful green space in the middle of Rome surrounding the Museo Borghese,
which was built as a "party villa" of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul V Borghese.
Scipione Borghese built his villa-cum museum, (seen in the next picture), during the mid 17th century in the outskirts of Rome.
The traffic-free park has become a favorite place to jog, bike or picnic, and is beautifully groomed with paved walkways, lakes, fountains, and places to relax and enjoy a picnic.

Nice gallery Carolyn! I hope to make it to Italy one day, in the meantime your photos peak my interest!

I appreciate that you have taken the time to tell us about your photos. Not your usual 'touristy' shots, they have an energy about them.
