Yes indeed. I remember being warned when I hiked as a Girl Scout. Avoid any mushroom that is bright red, ESPECIALLY if it also has white spots. And if it has a sticky surface on top, don't go anywhere NEAR it. And yet, these were always the mushrooms pictured in the story books. I guess they are too pretty to resist if you are a children's fairy story illustrator.

But here the mushrooms are quite elelgent indeed. It's an exciting catch!
