Thanks Linda - they were lovely enough to produce a gallon of juice that's currently gurling away in a demijohn under the stairs. I'll let you know how it turns out in a year or so!
Yes they were grown outside (the hot UK 2006 really helped to produce this many, this size and all ripe). I can't remember the variety, but it was from a UK garden centre and designed for our climate. By comparison, I have a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Gewurztraminer netx to this and they just sulk most years.
