Edit! Edit !Edit!

Over the years of shooting together, Phil and Tim have become quite in sync with each other. They can even anticipate how the other will likely see or shoot an image. And they have also both developed the habit of checking and deleting unwanted images as soon as they have a break. Here, they take refuge from the scorching heat in the shade of the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple while waiting for me. They sit together in a corner, dressed even almost identically, editing their pictures in tandem!

Hey Tim, I'm glad you liked this photo. It was a shot I couldn't pass up! Both of you made a great subject, and I felt it really spoke about the wonderful bond you both share. And yes, it was "cute" and adorable to see!

Cute? Well I'm sure it's been years and years since "cute" has been connected to me. I think the last time was when I had a head full of curly blond hair and was three. Anyway this is a great shot of us as we oddly see and make images of the world.

"The Odd Couple" would have made another good title for this picture. We are, as is often the case between good friends, polar opposites in many ways, yet we have enormous respect for each other's gifts, and share many character traits and common interests. And here we are, doing what comes naturally!

Thanks for the wonderful critique on my image about your very self! I'm having a blast with this one! I am really thrilled that you like this image so much, and it is an honour to have you feature it in your own gallery (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/99668751 ). Having met both of you personally and spent 3 entire weeks with you too, I know for a fact how different your personalities are, but it was a nice moment to see that you have both also influenced each other in positive ways! Both of you are like an odd couple, but it's very cute!

This is called chimping, Celia. The phrase chimping, of course, refers to what might be coming from our lips as we view our images -- the quiet "whooo whooo whooo" of two chimpanzees sitting on the same log. I am going to add this image to my "As Others See Me" gallery -- here you see me as a mirror image of my friend Tim May. We wear similar clothing, hold our arms in identical fashion, tilt our eyes to the power of the LCD, not to mention the fact that both of us have less on top than we used to have. In synch, indeed! And yes, we did spend a lot of time waiting for you to finish your own shooting, Celia -- and we put that time to good purposes.
