Malaysians rarely display any concern for architectural integrity or appearances. Changes and extensions are often done without any consideration to how it may visually impact its surroundings, but are happily accepted so long as they fit their practical needs. This is a clear example where the pragmatic wins over the aesthetic! This is an old colonial-style shophouse with beautiful mouldings, but the original roof has been replaced with a cheap, modern, metal sheet and sky-high TV antennaes have been erected - probably so that they could receive stations from as far as Singapore!
