St Chads, Alone in the Fields.
by John Routerer

Cheshire

St Chads Chapel 1689, was built literally in the fields, a timber framed chapel stood on the site prior to that.
St Chads has not been fully used since 1863 when a much larger Victorian Church was built half a mile away alongside the nearest road.
The small brick building to the left still houses the horse drawn hearse.
The grave in the foreground is of a young 25 day old child.
Not Alone in the Fields.!

I enjoyed your explanation of the history of the church and graveyard. Nice photo.

I agree with Dawn: wonderful site, but you need to isolate the key elements.

might want to try this from a somewhat different angle to make the cross the focal point. A shot of a day with a dark sky would be interesting too.
