proudly representing Speedo since July 25, 2006

..which is the date I bought this cap. Izaak was
always shaking his head in the pool, the water really
bothered him.

I would often wind up with an ear lashing..grin
I went to Sports Chalet to see if they still made
bathing caps with straps. Lo and behold, they do
and Speedo even makes those (what I always considered
really ugly when I was a kid) hats with various
brightly colored bits of rubber sticking out all
over the hat, to look just like flowers..but they
don't. It was twice as much as this one; and also
I didn't want to ridicule this dear doggie.. I just
wish I had perhaps one pic of him in the flower hat :))

I think he's looking very proud to be sporting the latest style! I'm sure he's living up to his German name and is appreciative to have dry ears. After naming Ziek, I found out that it actually means "sickness" in Dutch. Oops! I like laughter a little better. Is Izaak full Rotty? To the best of our knowledge Ziek is 1/2 Rot, 1/2 German Shepherd. Thanks for the comments, good to see another big dog character here!!

.....Of course, Karen has the right of it. The photo is a "candid shot" that caught him without his dark glasses.

That's a lucky dog to have his own pool. although I think he turned his head so his friends wouldn't recognize him! Cute capture! Voted.

I think you have found a new market here for Speedo! Clever solution!

.....In your dealings with Izaak, and Zachary, please keep in mind my experience as a kid. I was getting blamed with going off and leaving the TV on when, as we eventually found, it was the dog turnng on the TV. Recall too the act he put on, trotting out to greet us as if he hadn't been caught. TV??? PC??? It would seem to me that, thumbs or not, if you can do one, you can do the other.
.
.....Consider too, a dog's first talent is being a dog. But in the case of the "professional dog," how does one differentiate being from artifact? (In case you wonder, the issue is moot with cats.)
.
.....In any case, were I you, besides the credit cards, I would also hide the car keys.

Don, I forgot to mention re the dark diva glasses...this morning I found the computer on and the web browser set for 'doggles'... I suspect that both he and the cat have solved the no thumbs
dilema and I am in for it..
Note to me...hide credit cards from pets...

Regarding his diva hood (playing along, as this dog is actually without ego..all sensitivity, playfulness and devotion..not as much fun to spin tales from..grin)
I have just received word that he has sought representation...finally selecting Zachary, our cat. As you know, they are wicked good negotiators, very good at keepeing things close to their furry vests. Izaak made that choice I suspect, because he has heard me repeatedly saying that 'dogs have people, while cats have staff'
Eyz wisely decided that the cat will be a far more ruthless deal maker, not settling for any ol' chew bone or toss of a tennis ball. They need to be woo'd not to mention the whining and dining...grins&giggles my friend..
Very good Ideas you have :)))

.....Of course! And Izaak is going to continue being a grouch about it until he gets the cap.
.
.....That's the trouble with these young'uns. They just haven't had any of the experience needed to develop into real troupers. They get the slightest little bit of "face time" and they turn into divas. The next thing you know, his agent will be providing a list of items to be stocked in his dressing room (which must be of sufficient size to comfortably include his entourage), and demandng script-approval while he, on the other hand, will insist on "knowing his motivation" before doing scene.
.
.....He will also likely quite soon begin insisting on wearing dark glasses in public that he not be recognized.

Giggle..you know, you just may be right. I could not get him to
talk about it. He just turned away ...
Don 27-Jul-2006 03:23
Of course, Izaak looks a bit put upon. He wanted the cap with the flowers!
Cristine Varney26-Jul-2006 21:40
Trust me..grin..this is far preferable to always shaking his
head.. The water really streams into his ears. He didn't
fuss at all with it, while in the water. I immediately removed
it when we were through swimming :))..
