Helicopter Damsel - Megaloprepus sp.

La Selva Biological Station, Costa Rica

It doesn't look like much in the photo, but these damsels are among the largest members of the dragonfly/damselfly group in the world, at around 6 inches long. They flap really slowly and patrol forest clearings for spiders.
