Dead Man Walking.
I’ve held the hand of the devil.
I’ve held the hand of God.
Is there still time to save my soul?
I’ve placed a rose on a grave.
And talked to the wind.
I'm just a dead man walking
Have I been living in a dream or a nightmare?
Each day I am getting one step closer to heaven.
I’m simple as dirt and just as old.
I’ve begged for forgiveness,
it didn’t do any good.
I still believe in better days.
Is happiness only a state of mind?
Is the world going crazy, or is it only me?
I got to leave this heart behind.
It’s so dark in my head.
I’m a dead man walking.
I’m riding on a trail of flames.
Where do I want to be put into the ground?
I’m not ready to cross that finish line.
Have you done something you are proud of today?
Have you done something to be ashamed of taoday?
Have you prayed to God anytime, anyplace?
Sometimes life just sucks.
It’s a wonder that the devil hasn’t caught me.

Today is the day of salvation.
I’ll never be as smart as I once was.
I can only worry about the man, I wanna be.
I make everybody look sane.
I’m not sure what I’m looking for, so I’ll keep on looking.
I;m a dead man walking
So many times I should have died.
So many mistake I have made.
You gotta crawl before you can walk.
I don’t want it to end, but I don’t know where to start.
As things go from bad to worse we still have to carry on.
I may never step foot in a church, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t believe.
I’m looking for just a little bit of happiness
without the hate and fears.
Maybe in the next lifetime!
Not in this one.
I’m outta hope;
all I need is some rope.
Sometimes I am my own worst enemy.
You gotta have Jesus to set you free.
God, give me the strength to stand alone.
What is the truth?
Will there ever be peace for me?
I saw a man walking on the water.
He was calling out my name.
Don’t be afraid, he said.
He asked me to follow him home.

I told him I wasn’t ready.
He told me don’t be afraid.
