Woodcock!

I opened the curtains to find; not just 5 inches of snow in the garden but this little fella looking for food.
Such shy birds normally and a special moment for me, having never seen one before.
So he is a great start to 2010 for me.

I only managed to get one shot before he scuttled away into our wood, so will be keeping an eye out for him now.
I just wish i could have used my canon not my little lumix.

Hi to everyone on PBase and thank you for all your messages of goodwill, getwell and best wishes, they were all most appreicated thank you!

What a brilliant surprise Carole, we see lots of these but usually just a flash as they take off from under your feet!
Great to see you well enough to post again.
