The Dicksissel is a very rare bird for Central New York. It is generally found in the center of the country in the great plains. The sighting of this bird has brought many birders in New York to Seneca Falls to see this bird. The nature area it is in is the restoration of a plain, among other habitats. It's only a few years old and will hopefully attract many other plains birds. There are also many Bobolinks and sparrows in this grassland.
