This is a full crop of the previous photo. There is no sharpening applied at all, not in camera nor in editing. Just a little touch of level adjustments.

Here we can see how relatively noise free the 5DmkII is at iso1600. There is no internal or external noise reduction applied at all. The 5DmkII is superior to the 50D in this case.

It's no problem at all to photograph this bird without a flash. It stays absolutely still for a long time, over a second actually.
