Turtle Pond, Central Park, NYC

Troglodytes hyemalis

Winter Wrens are tiny (4") birds that forage low or on the ground. Turtle Pond is not where we normally find them, so I was quite happy when this one landed on a cattail. In Central Park, the best time to find them during migration is mid-March through April, and October-November.
