The Rose Moon and Mount Hamilton

view map

I was trying photograph the Full Moon rising behind the Lick Observatory on Mount Hamilton, but was a bit off.

Trying to use the free tool, The Photographer's Ephemeris, to find a spot to do this. Found a spot on Sierra Road, but not quite right

I've used the Photographer's Ephemeris occasionally. Not with such great results as this though. Fantastic! V.

Keep trying, Bryan. If you have some local astronomers to query, they may be able to help with a location and time. That's how I was able to get this:http://www.pbase.com/pegsam/image/90870763
