"What the hell is the archbishop on about, there in the opaque distance" I would also think, "in his highfalutin attire." "What is the (Roman) Church, to us here, crawling along these cold sidewalks in rubber-wheel iron machines, bumping into each other as strangers, long past leaning like brothers, over rough oak benches, drinking froth in profusion, until we are gone and only the thin streaks of colored paint reminds it of us?"

I would have preferred seeing the original painting. This distracts for me.

Well, I thought I'd try to make my own art out of someone else's. This is an easel. Art students or artists use them to make painted copies of the original, either for the experience or for framing and reselling by the museum. I thought it was neat to focus on the easel which has paint strokes from painters going beyond the canvas. I liked the idea of using it to frame a painting in the room.
