After nearly disappearing from most of the United States decades ago, good news is that the Bald eagle is now flourishing across the nation and no longer needs the protection of the Endangered Species Act.
The nesting pair of Eagles in my photo produced 3 young in 2006 that successfully fledged. They repeated that again in 2007. This year, they have now produced another 2 eaglets.
So as we celebrate Earth Day today, let's also celebrate the success story of the American Bald Eagle. They are an example that a species can be saved & the cycle of life can be continued if we care for our Earth and its environment.
