"Bright red, 1 ½" blooms arrive in profusion from mid-March until the end of April. Each flower lasts for several weeks, opening every morning after sunrise and closing at sundown. The iridescent star-shaped blooms are borne on the ends of the stems similar to Christmas cactus."
