"Evening Sensation" 4-22-24

Petunia

I started this petunia from seed in the Spring of 2021. It's been growing in my Solar Room ever since. In the evenings, the flowers have a very pleasant fragrance that fills the area with scent. It has flowered for me every month of the year for the past 3 years. Petunias are commonly referred to as annuals, which isn’t strictly correct. Petunias are not tolerant of frost. Because of this aversion to cold, they are classified as tender perennials—they are perennials, but only in very warm areas or indoors, as I grow this one.

I really enjoy this pretty petunia variety with its lavender-blue, fragrant flowers. Last Summer, I grew a second "Evening Sensation" outside on our deck. That was one of my favorite deck flowers. However, it was treated as an annual and was left outside at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, I still have this one indoors.
