There is an ongoing fire ban prohibiting fireworks from being discharged in the county where we live. But that doesn’t mean fireworks are a no-go. The municipalities in the county are able to regulate the discharge of fireworks within city limits. When it comes to whether fireworks in Missouri are legal, it’s up to individual cities and municipalities to decide. Each place sets its own rules.

Fireworks are legal where we live. That includes close-to-professional-size rockets. For the Fourth of July, this neighbor shot off quite a few of the "big ones" from 8 PM until after midnight. Several blasts would come about once every ten minutes and went on for over 4 hours. It was odd, and the blasts were really big. I'm glad this wasn't directly next door!!! Although our next-door neighbors also shot off sizable fireworks, those weren't quite as big as this.

I love fireworks displays, but I'm not a big fan of private citizens shooting them off.
