We're lucky that we don't have to drive anywhere to see the local town Fourth of July fireworks display. We can just sit out on our deck and watch.
Of course, the trees keep getting taller and taller. When we first moved here, we could see 4 different public displays in different directions, but now tall trees cover up our being able to watch three of them.
This year, the display (that we can still see) took place at a location farther away from our house. Usually, that display is so close that we can see the smoke from the blasts. With things (above) in a distance, we couldn't. However, our close neighbors put on their own display with blasts almost as big as the professional ones. So, we got our share of smoke and loud noise. That was still happening at midnight...
