Two recent nights of record low freezes here were hard on guys like this.

Bella found this Bumble Bee laying still on the floor of our Solar Room. Chile quickly ran over. They pawed at him as each seemed to contemplate who should be the first one to take a bite. I stepped in and gently scooped the Bumble Bee on to a paper towel. Outside, I sat him on the patio railing. After several minutes in the warm sun, he woke up & flew off. Happy end to the story. No dogs were stung and the bee lived to pollinate more flowers.

Sadly today, I found two more Bumble Bees laying on the ground. They did not survive last's night's record freeze.
Not all stories have happy endings.
