Another Week 2019

or so before the wren family moves out of our Solar Room.

I'm not at all happy about their nesting in our Solar Room. Unfortunately, they seems to sneak in with the dogs & then set up their home. Once they establish a nest, I have too big a heart to kick the birds out; which would kill off any babies. The above photo is this year's lone hatchling.

Cute, but a major problem for my house plants. This year, the birds seem to have brought along a good dose of scale which has required my disposing of about 1/3 of my house plants in the Solar Room. I'm pretty upset about that. Luckily, most of the adult pooping seems to happen outdoors; plus the baby must eliminate in the nest; where ever that is. Despite the bird's having a nest, the Solar Room remains bird poop free. Their introducing "pests" to my plants seems to be our main problem. However, that's a really big deal for me. I've lost so many plants since the baby bird hatched.

We're now in the process of getting rid of all the house plants with a problem. How sad. In the process, we found a well hidden nest from another year that I had no idea that was even there. We can't locate this year's nest. But judging from the size of this baby (and nesting habits of Wrens), the family should move on within the next 10 days or so.

Really interesting text and a delightful and excellent shot of the juvenile wren. Wrens, like so many birds, carry the poop away from the nest to deposit it. How interesting that they nest in your Solar Room, which must feel like an outdoor space to them! V

Excellent detail, and I like the catchlight in its eye as well.
