More Flooding 2019

The Park has been closed for months due to repeat River flooding.
However, the high water expanded overnight due to additional flash flooding from 2 days more days of severe weather.

This is where we normally go for our July 4th picnic and fireworks afterwards.
However, I'm afraid that won't be happening this year.

Many, many, many farm fields in Missouri and Kansas also look like this from a combination of both River and Flash flooding. There won't be any crops this year. Today, three additional towns were also flooded to the point of residents needing water rescues.

The first 6 months of 2019 in our area have been the "wettest"
in 140 year (since weather records first started to be kept) history.

In the Ohio valley the same things. The news said it has been 49 weeks since the last dry week. You captured the spring of 2019.

Parts of our park is flooded, too. The picnic areas are almost all flooded.

This is a perfect photo of a terrible weather cycle. It's great photojournalism but I'm sure you'd rather be photographing green grass and not muddy water. Praying for dry weather here and where you are too.

This is a powerful image that tells this sad story.
It is like this here as well.
I hope the waters recede and all returns to a better way.

That all sounds so disastrous... both the flooding and the lack of crops. We
certainly ARE having strange weather! v

This park really is under water, Liz. Shame about the 4th July picnic this year! Hope it clears soon.
